According to BillyPenn.com, Shelia Modglin, 56, was badly hurt Thursday night after being struck by a car while walking across the intersection of Lincoln Drive and Cliveden Street in Philadelphia. At last report, she was in a drug induced coma at Einstien Medical Center. Modglin is a well known community arts leader.
The car driver’s name is not mentioned in the web article although he is said to have stayed at the scene.
The article mentions that Lincoln Drive is one of the most dangerous roads in Philadelphia, called by some “Dead Man’s Gultch” and that it has a notorious reputation for being hazardous to people on foot.
The article also mentions that there are numerous witnesses to the accident.
The accident investigation is presumed to be ongoing.
