Lab Employee Ge Guo Dies Following Workplace Accident at Laboratory in Uwchlan Township

The Mercury News is reporting on the death of a woman who died at at Frontage Laboratories, a pharmaceutical lab in Uwchlan Township in Exton.

The apparent accident happened on Tuesday when the Chester County Hazardous Materials Unit was summoned to Frontage Laboratories to help out with a hazardous chemical incident. The chemical was determined to be potassium cyanide.

A lab employee was found unresponsive at the scene. She has been identified as twenty-six year old Ge Guo, a female worker at Frontage who was a resident of Exton. Pottasium cyanide, a highly poisonous material, which Guo had access to, was found in the proximity of her body.

Several agencies first responded to the incident, including the Uwchlan Township Police Department, the Lionville Fire Company and the Lionville Ambulance Corps. The Chester County Hazardous Materials Unit was called in when further assistance was needed.

The reason for the accident and the manner of death are still being determined by law enforcement, county officials, as well as the The Chester County Coroner’s Office.
